My 1996 Toyota Paseo is having a problem with its spark plugs, it is eating them. I was having some issues with misfiring so I gave the car a tune up and after about a month started having misfires again. So I pulled out the plugs and the on in the fourth cylinder is missing the post and is all black. This is the second time this has happend. I'm not sure why this is happening? A friend thought that I had a bad fuel injector? Does anyone know what's going on? Thanks.

Looks to me that the spark plugs might be getting hit by the pistons. Or your car is running really rich...How is your gas mileage and how does the car run when you first replace the plugs?

Someone suggested that it might be the pistons hitting the spark plugs, I hope that is not the case. If so how would I be able to tell? My gas mileage is great, I get between 33-35 MPG.

your pistons are hitting the plug

When a company put a sticker on the motor that says "ONLY SIDE ELECTRODE PLUGS--NGK (I forgot what model)" they mean it.

You have to run the NGK's in the 1.5L. They were 4 bucks/one.
