Avg gas mileage 48MPG.
Male "Manly" factor 0.

I have owned SUV's for the past 8 yrs. So I love the savings in gas.
My male pride has suffered a great deal by the trade off.

I'm not a "Green Peace" guy. I'm not eco friendly in any way.
I feel as though I'm driving a car made of tissue paper. It's made of tin.

I like the way it handles, love the gas consumption, love the gadgets and gizmos.
I hate the size, shape, tires, headlights, and seats. Nothing aggressive about this car.
It has a passive personality. You don't even turn a key! You push a button!

No VERRRRRRRRRRRooooom! starting the engine. No grabbing the gear shift lever and throwing
it to submission to the gear of MY choice.

I have developed a complex. I'm afraid to be seen by my friends daintily zipping down the road,
as they are all gather for the weekly fill up at at the gas station. I'm sure I will be missed.

I'm thinking of wearing a ski mask while driving in the neighborhood, until such time as I can make an appointment with a therapist

ROFL !!!
Such bold honesty have I not seen. As you can tell, i am a Jedi.

Well Bob, there are a lot of women on these forums that will read what you said and will appreciate such a man. It is, afterall, the era of the sensitive male.

I'm wondering if we shouldn't run a parallel forum here called Pongo's Dating service.

What do you think Ladies ? Let's give it up for Bob ! He is at one...with his feelings.

ROFL !!!

Hehe, I definitely like Bob's sense of humor! I've just read the most honest opinion of the Prius yet. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer.gif)

This is too funny! I think many people will think the same as you do! But on the other hand you are describing the perfect car to be here in Europe, where the gallon of gas right now goes for around 7 dollars! Maybe you'll make new friends that have more money to spend in something else than gas! In my case, (I am a woman), I would buy more shoes!!

I actually have fun passing SUVs in ours. We go 80 mph and still get 44 mpg. And the car feels a lot sturdier and more responsive than our 98 subaru outback did.

I was wondering... What does your owners manual recomend about changing the oil? How often should you do it? Is there any specific type of oil you have to use for a Prius? I gues you will not be doing it in a long time! But I am just curious about this.

Great car with alot of hype, but I agree that the style is not one of my favorites. The money you save on gas may convince me otherwise, though.

I rode in a friend's Prius last year in Scotland, and she's a real tree hugger so she liked showing off all the
bells and whistles that thing has. It seemed like a good ride, but I have to admit that I loathed the talking
computer telling you how much gas you were saving etc. I was ready to slam a hammer on it by the
time we'd drive 70 miles in traffic.

I sort of agree with Bob ...I'm an SUV person and you'll probably have to pry me out of one to bury me!

The question I have, is how much per year or week are you actually saving on gas? Is it a huge amount?

Beats me! I tried to tune the voice out after 15 minutes but I think they like to
tell you that you are probably saving more than you really are/ (IMG:style_emoticons/default/tongue.gif)

My best friend got her Prius in 2004 and loves it. She was driving a minivan so she is saving more on gas than my friend who drives an old Eagle Summit would save. The Prius driver was driving from extreme Southern Illinois to Chicago every other week at least. In her case, the acr has more than paid for itself.

That's pretty honest! You won't see that very often from prius drivers...

Hat's off to a brutal honest evaluation of the Prius. I have to admit I've been seen in one. Just don't tell the neigbors.

I don't have an issue with being seen in my friends Prius. I like her car but she has said that there are issues with the computer.

Hate computer issues had one with my Taurus was an expensive bill. Hopefully the Prius doesn't have issues like that.
