Hi
New to this forum and thought I should write that we have owned our '92 Camry since '94. It had approx. 36,000 miles on it when we bought and it now has 306,000 miles (that's 513,000 km for us Canadians).

We have been looking at getting a different vehicle as we have grown as a family. We have looked at the Mazda6 wagon, Nissan XTrail, Subaru Legacy and Outback wagons, Volvo wagons, etc. Each time we look at something else we feel guilty. How can we be anything but loyal to Toyota?! Our Camry has been incredible to us. So reliable, low maintenance, etc. Only thing we have done is put in a timing belt every 65,000 miles.

Now looking at a 2001 or 2002 Highlander. Any thoughts?

Thanks.

We feel the same way about our 94 4 runner. I just pray that they continue to have the same kind of endurance. Ours has 470,000 miles, but we have finally decided to give it up to the grave (it was beginning to have a rough time).

I worry that the newer generations just won't be as tough.

Sometimes it's hard to let go of a great vehicle not knowing what the next one may bring.

I don't think anyone likes getting a new vehicle when they know their old one is dependable. Don't feel guilty about looking at other makes/models. It will just make you remember why exactly you love Toyota so much! :haha:

Yeah, the older Toyotas are so great. But, you just have to have faith in the newer ones to be just as good. And, I agree, if you go to another make, you're only going to miss Toyota.

My nephew tried another make of truck and ended up selling it to buy another Toyota. You have to believe that Toyota is going to make each new generation as good or better than the previous one.
