The Navigation System in my 2004 Landcruiser seems to be shorting out. Sometimes the screen stays black, other times the Trip Information screen is the only thing which will display. It is very frustrating, since I can't control the heat, the radio shuts itself off and the backup camera does not work. Has anyone run into this problem? Any suggestions? I was told it would be $5,000 to replace it!!!!

Go by you one to keep in your car for about 1/10th that cost (and that's for a good model). I've never understood adding that much of a cost to your car for one that is "installed" when they are so inexpensive now adays.

I know that the older ones in the lexus? were prone to having problems and are quite expensive to fix. If you get the toyota one from the dealer I?m sure it won?t be cheep. Sean Rauch 85 Supra 5M (7M soon) Cone Filter, Exhaust, Cold Air Scoop Winnipeg, Canada > >

Hey Rick. You are close to me (I actually live in Laguna Niguel) and please feel free to come see me about the NAV and see how it works? Best way to decide if it's worth the $!

Dianne
www.carsontoyota.com
310-522-2317

Nav system cars, a few of them, will be here physically ... they are all sold but you CAN look at them and see how the systems work.

So, for the 2nd time in a few days, please call me/email me to see the Prius up close and personal, Rick.

Dianne
310-522-2317
carsontoyota.com

I have a few Prii coming in this week, and one's drive-able with NAV. Come see me about this NAV system thing and answer your own questions. :>

Can dealer add the navigation system after delivery? After all the positive posts in here about the navigation system, I would like to add it to my 2002 Prius. It will be at the dealer in two weeks.

Adam

"Hey Rick. You are close to me (I actually live in Laguna Niguel) and please feel free to come see me about the NAV and see how it works? Best way to decide if it's worth the $!"

I came down today (Sunday, 10/22), only to find out you don't work on weekends (my luck, eh?). My mistake for not calling first. But, to make it worse, the sales monkeys there didn't know where to find a Prius (I saw two in the back lot). One guy said he'd go and check for me, asking me to "have a seat". 10 minutes later, I saw him having a smoke break outside with a buddy, apparently with no attention to come back to help me out. I don't know if he forgot, or just didn't care. At that point, I left.

I'd still love to see it though! I drove around to 3-4 other dealers as well to see if they had any with NAV on the lot, and it seems to be a wild goose chase. "We can place an order for you..." is pretty much all they'll say, or "I can't sell you this car, but so-and-so can tomorrow." They all seem to agree with the fact that I won't place an order for something sight unseen, but none of the demos have any real "features" on them.

Maybe next time? :-)
-Rick
