New to the forum. My 01 Corolla just went in for its 90,000 mi checkup. The dealership told me that my timing chain tensioner o ring is leaking a little oil but it didn't have to be replaced immediately. They also told me that my drive belt was cracked and should be replaced. I have replaced belts in the past on other vehicles and I don't think that it's worth it to pay the dealer for something I can do myself, I just need a little refresher on tools and such.

My two questions are:
1. Do I need any special tools to replace the drive belt and
2. Does anyone have a writeup or can send me in the right direction.

The Autozone website has do-it-yourself instructions for lots of things. They didn't have a listing for an '01 model, but I did find this....

There's pictures and everything! Hope it helps. You could check out some other websites like this, too, I'm sure. Someone's got the instructions posted. :) Good luck.

I also have a check engine light on right now so I went to AutoZone to see what the code was.

Emissions: exhaust vent circuit board malfunction

Does anyone know where to find the Corolla codes and has anyone had this problem before?
