I have a 1999 GS400 (12000 miles) which developed an irritating noise a few months ago when I move at a very slow speed (as in parking). The noise is a popping/creaking sound.

The car has been at an Atlanta Lexus dealership for, no kidding, 3 weeks. It was let out after 2 weeks for a weekend, but has been back there for a week.

They replaced the steering rack after 2 weeks and then sent the car home. It made more noise than when I sent it in. They cannot seem to locate the source of the noise. Aaaarrrggghhhh!

Has anyone experienced anything similar ? I really enjoy the car, but for $50K this is starting to really piss me off. I am a day away from raising hell with Lexus itself.

Any mechanics or lawyers out there ?
