Hey whats up? Im new to this sight. I have an 88 supra turbo 5-speed that seems to be causing me more trouble then its worth. I've always wanted a supra and about 6 months ago I finally got one. And since then i've had to replace the head gasket, timing belt, starter, battery, thermostat, turbo-to-exhaust manifold gasket, and about every heater hose on the car. While I was changing the head gasket i broke the knock sensor in half because i didnt want to take the starter off to unplug it. After i changed the head gasket i drove the car about 10 miles total and then all of a sudden one day it started knocking right after i pulled away from my house. The car is knocking loud and it hesitates when you push on the gas rather your driving or idling. It knocks rather the engine is warm or cold. I put a new turbo-to-exhaust manifold gasket on it today and it still hesitates. I already got a knock sensor for it but i dont know when ill have time to put it in. My question is; Is the knocking from a rod or is it the knock sensor? Why is it hesitating it never did before I broke the knock sensor? Have any of you ran into this problem? Please help I need to know fast so I know to sell my baby or fix her.
