Go to WWW.LCENGINEERING.COM, they build the best 20/22R engines and sells parts. They are very expensive but the best and will give you an idea what else to do with your engine. As I mentioned previously, work on your head with bigger valves and extensive porting.

Forget the 20R block, find a 22R (81-84) block and build it. There is only a miner differance, everything is the same except, the bore & pistons the cost is virtually the same but you get a compression of 9.5 vs. 8.5 +/- . Sometimes the best way to build power is build a BIGGER ENGINE! GOOD LUCK. from the TOYOTOMON78

I was told this past weekend that the '84 22R is taller than the '81-83 22R -- so you might want to look into that and be careful in respects to what vehicle that you'd be putting your build into -- you could end up with an engine that is too tall (with the '84 block) to fit under the hood... and then you either have to sell and start over or cut and likely cut a lot. Good luck.
