hey guys i just bought a 93 toyota pick up v6 3.0L. and i love it, but i have two problems that are really pissing me off. i didnt find this problem until after i bought the truck and drove it for a while but if i hit certian bumps or dips my cd player turns off and on, my cruise control shuts off(as if i hit the brakes, not all the way off) and since my sirus radio is plugged into my cig lighter it turns off too. and if the bump is a good one i think it kills the engine and messes with the speedometer. i dont know if it is a bad ground or what? another prob is my truck never use to overheat but now it loves to if i go over 65. i replaced the thermy and i really dont think its the radiator cap. if i could get some help with these two problems it would really help enjoy my truck to the fullest. any ideas would be a great help!

hey there, did you buy it privatly or from a dealer? Just wondering. You probably already thought of that, but you might want to call the factory. Most companys have a good willprogram and will atleast help you figure the problem out. As far as the cigarette lighter issue et al, sounds like you have a wiring or short issue my friend! Let me know how it works out and sorry I couldnt help more!

I think my 94 4Runner is customized pretty good, 5" lift, 33's, 15x10 alloys, 3" mandrel bent exhuast, and other stuff, you can check out my website for pics and details. The V6 was going to get a turbo, but due to a tuning error the motor detonated a lot and is on it's last legs....So a Lexus V8 (1UZFE) will be going in now. Should be fun... My website http://www.boosted4runner.com Not sure on too many sites for customizing 4Runners..... Good luck!! Dave Qld. Australia http://www.boosted4runner.com

I don't have a clue about auto's at all so can't really help you there... I'm not too sure what the miss or surge could be either. I had a look in the Toota Manual for the 3VZE and it listed this as things to check :- For missing Check all vacum hose connectiosn PVC Hoses EGR Valve - staying open Check Air Filter Check Timing Cold Start Injector & time switch Fuel filter and presuure regulator Condition of Injectors All ECU plugs and wiring. It doesn't mention anything about the surging problem. As for cleaning the throttle body. I recntly put 430cc injectors in to replace the std. 200cc ones for when the turbo was going to go in. When I took the intake chamber off there was so much gunk buildup inside of it. Specially where the EGR valve goes in. There was all this crusted burnt black crap up to 1/4" thick. So I cleaned all that up with throttle body/carby cleaner, and blocked off the EGR Valve and also removed rocker cover/sump breathers out of the inatke, which should prevent it from getting the crusty stuff again. Hope that kinda helps??? Regards Dave
