Location: California

Hello My name is David Kelley

I own a 1992 pickup with long bed it has the 22re w/ manual trans.

I have quite a few questions these ?? are because my mother/father like to drive the trunk but have a hard time.

1. Is there junkyard power steering upgrade i can do currently it has a manual steer box in it.

2. What isinvolved in converting to a auto tranny ie comp, peddles, etc.

3. When do i change the rear diff oil it currently has 123k miles on it.

4. I have the replace a broken wheel stud on the rear whats involved, ive read else where you have to remove the rear bearing to do so,

You can convert to PS fairly easily if you pull all the parts off of a donor truck.
You need the PS pump, resevoir, all the hoses and the cooler, and the PS gear box.
You will also need the belt, and make sure the pulley on your truck has the extra open "slot" for the PS belt.
Donor truck should be as close to year of your truck as possible.

Converting to an auto is a bit more work, as it requires changing the ECM and wiring.

To replace the broken wheel stud you have to pull the axle shaft, which means you have to drain the diff. So you get 2 things done at once.
