Hello! Just bought a 1995 hiace super custom 4x4 3.0L Automatic. For years, we have been agonizing long drives in a sub-compact car and now my family is totally enjoying the extra space. No more fights on who's occupying to much space...YES! I am not familiar with all the buttons. Can anyone tell me what the little red button infront of the gearshift is? It's written in japanese characters and my unit did not come with a manual.

The red button has to do with shifting gears with the door open. It's for mechanics.

hi helpmefix,

i am also from the phil. if your engine is not running
you can only move the shifter if you press the red botton.
this is just a safety feature to avoid accidentally shifting
to neutral when your van is parked especially on inclined
streets.
