Samhummer and Certagemmy both need serious therapy.
They can't seem to find the correct repair manuals for the Toyota models called Women. Too bad I wasn't an admin here.....i volunteer folks !
Wopjob--> does your older Tercel have fuel injection ? What is your technique to slow the idles once it's hot. Do you have a tacometer ? What are the Rev's indicating when fast idling when hot.
Hey Samhummer.....when you fart..does that release pheremones ? I think you are a hormone yourself eh ? ROFL !
Older? barely broken in at 147K miles. This is the 90 EZ model, no luxuries like tach here. The car has the infamous sliding venturi carburator (3E engine) I have a Chilton manual. The fast idle is kind of low but adeguate to warmup the car in the cold without stalling, I would keep it that was. once the car becomes hot the hidle rises, I can hear it when I'm at a stop light for example. I don't have a portable tach to really know how fast the car is idling. At one point I had the screw turned all the way clockwise now I backe if off a bit but did not make a lot of change. This is the screw on the right side of the carb (as you look at it from the front). I will try changing all the small vacuum lines next. I also bought a bottle of Sea Foam but I'll try that only after I change the lines.
