Hi everyone: Picked up my new RAV today and contrary to some thought on this subject, they're not done with the 2008's. My just got in from port and was delivered today. I opted for the V6 4x4 Base model. The single CD system with 6 speakers is fine. My grandkids told me CD's are out of date. Seems they all are into Ipods and MP3 things. That's OK, there's a hookup for those in the center console box. I've searched all over for a black one and there was none to be found in the surrounding 3 states. I lucked out the dealer had this one coming in on a load and I opted for it before it hit town. It's sweet. Also got the tow package included. That includes larger radiator, alternator and "pre-wiring" (tow package for $160) which is not the harness, hitch and receiver. I knew that in advance and contacted a pro local installer. The dealership wants $820, the installer, under 300. Go figure. But, and there's always one of those, because of the LED taillights, a special harness is required, which can be obtained from the dealer, if in stock or it's special order. I'm going to the dealer tomorrow to price it. On the internet, they're about $50 at the dealer, I see they are about $160. I'll see if they give me a hard time. Also printed out the various install instructions from this site and really appreciate your contributions. The RAV is the "cats pajamas", just sold my 01 Nissan Pathfinder and although it's a different class, there is no comparison. The Nissan quality was subpar although it served it's purpose. I retired a short time ago, and have a Harley to ride or tow around the country. I ride, but my wife has discomfort being hit by the rain at highway speeds, therefore, the trailer. Just got a custom motorcycle tow trailer and that's why I opted for this (among other reasons). Anyway that's my intro, glad to be on this site.
