Although the Matrix XRS has 180hp, it only has 130lb.-ft. of Torque. That's pretty disappointing. I've driven the XRS hard and found that it doesn't pull as hard as I would like.

Has anyone heard of any companies developing a Turbo for the car? Some turbo manufacturers are saying that they haven't gotten the performance they were hoping when fabricating a turbo the Matrix. Anyone know otherwise?

If the turbo problem would be solved, the car should be able to turn 260hp+. Now that would be some real fun and finally the performance would match it's looks.

I was sorta hoping the turbo for the Celica would fit but after looking at available spacing, it wont. There's talk about a supercharger as well, but I can't see how that'll fit when there's almost no space for anything! Even a cold air intake will be a tight fit.

Well, perhaps someone will come up with an aftermarket hood with a bulge/intake on top which will allow something to be bolted to the top of the engine.

I don't know if that would help, but it's possible, I suppose

Just a thought :)
-adi

That's interesting, because in another post somewhere (not sure which forum) someone stated that there was enough room to easily drop a v6 in the bay! Go figure..

Brantly
