I stopped by the parts counter today at Champion Toyota in Austin. The cruise kit was not in the part guy's computer, therefore it doesn't exist.

I want to install cruise before the end of June. Will I be able to get it from Toyota?

--Chris

Does anybody have the part number for the cruise kit? If I had that perhaps I could get the order in even if the parts guy can't surf through ordering screen to the right place.

--Chris

NetManJ said:
FYI: The salesman for my car told me that he has 4 CC kits on order.

Before you order parts for a cruise kit, look at the elegant "remote-control" do-it-yourself cruise control kit now available from Coastal Electronics in Florida:

www.coastaletech.com

Several members of the YahooGroup have reported favorably, for example:

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/toyota-prius/message/9932
(cut & paste as needed)

You install a hidden receiver unit that plugs into the car's computer, and operate it by a tiny remote about the size of your remote locking device, which you can put anywhere!
I plan to order one soon. I'll probably velcro the remote to the bottom strut of my steering wheel.
Eric Metzler in Enfield, Maine
