Hello to everyone, new kid on the block here. Thanks for the forum. This is my first Hi Ace and I have what I thought was a simple problem. Both stoplights appear to have failed at the same time. I have replaced the globes but still no go. Is there a simple fuse to be replaced and if so WHERE IS THE FUSE LOCATION. I have found the rather bulky fuse boxes under the dash but these don't seem to be the correct ones. I was looking for the typical panel containing small glass or coloured ceramic fuses. Perhaps it is an inline one? Anyway the van is a '93 right hand drive. Welcome your feedback as I am without an owners handbook...seems to be a common story. Thank you, John.

Sorry. Don't know the location of the fuse box. It should not be that hard to find.

Also check the brake light switch. It should be near the brake pedal.

Thanks LotofMiles shall check it out and let you know.

Hi Ruffnut, another Melbournian here. Thanks for the reply but the fuse box under the dash doesn't have any typical fuses regulating the lights...at least I don't think it has. Is there what I call a normal fuse box? ie one with fuses for wipers heaters indicators etc.?

yes if your van is an import the fuse box is where previously stated they are mini wedge fuses not glass.
try in drivers side down near centre console that is where mine is and mine is a 1996 hiace van

All Hiace vans that I know of have the fuse box in the centre - just below the dash. There are no other fuses and Toyota don't use inline fuses anywhere for things like lights and accessories.

Go through all the fuses in the fuse box and check each one. If they are all intact then you have a wiring problem and it will need some indepth attention.

I have a 1991 Hiace import and there are two fuse boxes: one is under the dash near the center consol and the other is below the stearing column in behind the accelerator/brake pedals. Not sure if this helps.
