Noisy Timing Chain In 3y

Newbie Group: Members Posts: 6 Joined: 14-May 08 Member No.: 11,303 Drives: Hiace,86,3Y,2liter. Location: NewZealand	Hi , I have an 86 Hiace campervan.When its warmed up it has a rattle at idle which i have been told sounds like the timing chain. It dissapears with an increase in revs.The van is on LPG and Petrol. Do i have to run a special LPG rated oil in the engine?If so can anyone recommend a good quality oil and what viscosity?The oil pressure seems good.The light goes out as it should.Also i have heard because LPG has a higher octane rating, should i advance the timing slightly?Finally if it is the timing chain, how difficult and how many hrs labour would it cost to relace? Thanks for any help.

Hi , Yes It has a timing chain. Its a 1986 2liter 3y engine.Not a 3liter. Thanks
