Hello, I have a 06 Tacoma That was put in the ditch a year ago, It slid off the road going through the opposite lane after spinning a 180. The passanger front tire hit first with direct side impact, enough to break the bottom 3 inches of the rim off when hitting a dirt mound. the drivers side tire had the same impact as well. I was going Approx. 40MPH. All was well, truck driveable, no noises or anything. Well about 2 weeks after i started to hear a noise that sounded like tire rub, it was only at high speeds going around very sharp left corners on the road. speeds of 65 or higher. I took it it and had the local shop check the allignment and components, thinking that i had bent or broke something. Well, Nothing was found. took it to two other shops and they didn't find anything. one shop said it could be the CV joint, another said Berings, but nobody knew because everything looked good up to 60mph in the shop. After driving the truck for 5 months, the noise is now apparent at 40mph around corners. So it took it to the shop again. Nothing found. So That is why I am here. I should tell you that, there is no pulling while driving or stoping, no wear marks from the tires, and the noise is not constant. When holding a sharp turn at speeds 40 and up, the nosie is a low grawl exactly like tire rub, but makes noise for 1second, then 1 second silence, then 1 second of noise, back and forth like something is giving and taking. the noise is also is so low that you can't tell what side of the vehicle it coming from. lately i can now feel the vibration in the stearing wheel, and sometimes i think i can feel it driving straight at speeds 20 and up. Nobody knows what it is, but most people say it could be a bearing that was pinch at impact and is starting to make noise, others say the CV joint. I don't know and need some help before it stress is tranfered to other area's in the front end. Let me know what you think it could be
