I have owned four Toyota vehicles from as small as the Corolla to a Highlander Hybrid. In both the Camry and the Highlander, I have found the air from the air condtitoning has a bad odour after a previous trip with the air conditioning on. This was particularly supprising to me a few months I had the Camry. The dealer only put some air freshener in the duct system and the odour came back soon after. I found the dealer had no help in the matter. As frustrated as I was with a new car, I tried pretty well everything. The odour smells like rotten eggs!

Eventually, I noticed that the odour gets particularly bad after the air conditioning system was put on re-circulated air. To this I found if I turn off the air conditioning and put the fan on high for about one kM before home would prevent the bad odour from forming for the next trip. Suprisingly, it works on my Camry, my highlander and hopefully, it would not happen to my latest addtion, a Lexus.
