Robert,

Everyone is entitled to their opinions.

That said, the only thing you post on this board are criticism's of Toyota and Prius. E.g., "This proves again TOYOTA's ignorance."

It is well and good that you don't like Toyota, but why don't you just move on to another car manufacturer? Buy an Insight. Buy something else. But what is the point of your constant attacks in a Toyota/Prius club house? It really is annoying. Please do us a favor and move on to a car that you enjoy.

GCKorn

GCKorn, interestingly enough your response to Robert is similar to that I received on the Saturnfans website during my short 4 months as a Saturn owner. (Loved the car, just not the dealership that made MAJOR buying/servicing errors including not detecting that our car was subject to a recall requiring the ENTIRE engine to be replaced on a NEW vehicle, and no one bothered to inform us nor did they pick up this problem BEFORE selling us the car when Saturn knew about the condition, then they denied us access to all the recall options given to owners who were notified.)

Saturn screwed up bigtime with our whole ownership experience and I spoke up about it, including involving a major television network in my dispute which aired part of the story to millions of Canadians. Many Saturn owners criticized me for complaining and told me to move to another car. Not so easy when you just bought one for 32,000.00 out the door and it needs an new engine but Saturn won't honour their own recall.

We have to take the good with the bad, just like the criticisms/confusion about the ordering process with Toyota, hopefully if Toyota sees this as a problem they will correct it.

I don't agree with Roberts assessment and I posted what I thought was a more correct interpretation based on the facts since cruise for example is available on the Canadian cars.

When some people love their car and they see someone else not as happy, it can be annoying, but I would rather hear about those complaints and decide for myself whether they are valid or not. We PRIUS owners must be smarter than the average bear, after all, we chose a smart car.

There will be problems with this car as there is with any other. I personally don't want anyone to be the least bit hesistant to post their criticism even if this is a PRIUS fan/owner site.

ONLY BECAUSE OF WHAT I EXPERIENCED WITH MY SATURN AND THE REACTIONS OF SOME POSTERS ON SATURNFANS DO I NOW HAVE THE WISDOM TO TAKE THIS POSITION.

If anyone wants to see my Saturn story, the television new coverage or the audio tape of a Saturn rep who secretly listened in to my conversation with another Saturn employee and then referred to me as "the little prick", come on over to my website.

http://people.becon.org/~djenning/

It's a long story. :)

Ontariocandaprius,

I appreciate your comments. But let me ask you this: Now that you have purchaed your Prius, are you incessantly posting negative comments on the Saturn board? You probably made your point and moved on. That is not the case here, where one poster seems to want to take every opportunity to dump on Toyota/Prius. It's a free world. But it's free for me to express my opinions too.

GCKorn

Well not 'incessantly' but I still do post there on occassion, as do other non-owners (might buy one again someday). I usually only make a comment when I see someone post that everything is hunkydory in Saturn land (it isn't anywhere) or where my experience differed. I also want to make sure people 'know' about this particular Saturn dealership long into the future. (I do still recommend another Saturn dealer that treated us right).

You are ABSOLUTELY correct, you and everyone else is free to agree/disagree post/not post. If you took my post to mean that I thought you shouldn't speak up, that wasn't the intent at all.

If this guys concerns/complaints are valid readers will make that determination. WE can challenge the accuracy of the statements.

I simply related to some of the similarities in your reaction ALTHOUGH I DO RECOGNIZE HIS CRITICISM IN THIS CASE IS NOT VALID BASED ON HIS WORDING. IMHO

GCKorn - again you don't understand.
I personally own Toyota's Camry '94 and Tercel '95.

I bought them for their reliability and I still like them and TOYOTA for making them.

And because of that I am considering PRIUS as my next car with all its nice features etc.

What I do not like is TOYOTA's way of handling of the ordering process, dealer's ignorance about this great car and CR's lack of responsiveness and knowledge.
That is all.

GCKorn - if you want to sing a song of praise all the time that's fine but it is a little bit boring.

Regards
Robert

Not to mention the fact that Ontariocanadaprius was actually wronged. Everytime I see our disgruntled poster's negative comments, I think, so, don't buy one. It's a (relatively) free market in a free country here, and no one is forcing us to buy these cars. Unfortunately, we do have to suffer the negative comments.

MJS

Hey maybe he will scare off somebody from buying one so I will be able to get a second one. :)

I hope no one takes offense that I have a criticism (a wish in reality) that Toyota put a remote trunk release on the key fob.

The dealer confirmed today, what some of you have already said, 3 keys the limit boyz so keep one of the black ones locked up safe.

The dealer is giving me the key they cut for free. He said I can use it to unlock the door, but then I got thinking that it might not work to even do that without the rolling code. Sure fire way to find out, try it! :)

Also said the doors can't be set to autolock. I'm REALLY going to have to take the blue Prius out for a test drive cause I would have bet money that it did it. Guess I would lose my money. Just looked at too many cars to keep all the features straight.

Time to go gas up the PRIUS.
