I got a P2241 code which is the Bank 2 Sensor 1 O2 sensor. I would like to know where do I find it and how do I get to it? Also, what is the replacement part number for it? Any help appreciated.

Many thanks in advance,

Ed

Hi Ed!

The bank 2 sensor 1 O2 sensor is the easiest to see on the 3MZ-FE engine. Open the hood and look just past the radiator and down at the exhaust manifold from the head by the firewall. This sensor is right there above the cat and just below where all the exhaust ports manifold together, in plain sight. The pigtail isn't very long and is easy to follow. Unfortunately, the 2 above cat O2 sensors are the most expensive O2 sensors for our vans (2 sensors for each head, 1 above the cat and 1 below). That's because the above cat sensors are what are known as wideband air/fuel ratio sensors, and they are very sensitive to subtle changes in the exhaust makeup. You can easily change this sensor yourself with a 7/8" open end wrench. Be sure to apply bulb grease to the inside of the pigtail connection and to put anti-seize compound on the new sensor threads. If you need, PM me and I can email you a picture of where this sensor is located. The Bosch part number at Autozone is 15571. Go to their site and search that number, and you will find the proper sensor. Also, check eBay for this sensor. The Denso part number is W0133-1822046.

Good luck!
