I just wondering, what kind of paint do you recommend to paint the hub caps? It's like grey/silver color with chrome Toyota logo in the center. It have lots scratches and I want to fix it by spray painting it.

I could get new hub caps but I rather not do that since I might end up scratching it up again.

Thanks for any help you can give.

1. Wash with a degreaser that will remove brake dust, such as Orange Blast available at walmart.
2. Sand with 220 grit sandpaper ). 3. Spray lightly as many coats as you feel is needed.
4. Spray with clear coat (optional)
It's all in the prep, but doable!

I don't know that I've ever seen a paint made specifically for hub caps. I do know that there are some good plastic paints out there now. Krylon would do well, probably, in a grey.

I don't know if I'd use Krylon ...I've used it on furniture (with proper prep too) and it came right off. Go to an auto store and check out heavier duty ones.

Vicki, I am impressed! You go!

What is it that they use on "Orange County CHoppers" to custom paint their rims and things? Could that be used here?

I don't see any reason to paint the hub caps myself. Mine are already the same color as my car, so I would leave them alone.
