Was curious to hear of anyone's experiences with porting and polishing the 7M-GTE head. I've got it almost all apart now while doing the head gasket, and while it's at the machine shop, it would be the best time to get it done if there are real benefits to doing so. I'm not interrested in spending the money for really marginal gains (2-7HP), as my fun (and limited track time) is better spent on tires! Thanks Bob

I've had the heads on my supra 7M's ported and polished. One was done professionally and one was completed with a Dremel and the snake extension by me in my garage. Both methods seem to provide identical results. Barely any increases at all. I would say that just knocking off the rough casting with a dremel would be just as effective as a full port and polish, but I haven't tested it. I found for my $250.00 that I gained much more with a set of adjustable cam gears and I would NOT spend the money on a professional job again. Hope this helps. -Dave Supra List Administrator
