I was having a couple problems with my 94 pickup 4x4. First the park brake and battery light on the dash has been flickering on and off periodically for awhile and has now become permanent. I was thinking it could be an alternator problem or some sort of short somewhere. Would anyone happen to know anything more specific?

Also once the truck is warmed up it seems to idle really low (around 500 rpm even as low as 250) I am almost sure it is a computer problem with the efi system but how could this be fixed?

If you have a wiring diagram you will see how those lights are interconnected. Check your brake fluid level?

Have you adjusted the idle bypass screw? A little more detail may shake some ideas loose.

for the brake light it might be the the brake fluid. i had the same problem with the light flickering on and off and it was the brake fluid was just a little low, not by much.

When I was fixing the isolator on my 85 22re I found those lights are connected with diodes.
