i have an 83 toy pick up with a 22r 2.4l engine. i bought the truck with 220k miles and it sits now with 249k nd still runs great except... on a warm day( 40 deg or higher) ill go out fire up the engine and drive were ever i need to go with out a problem. i reach my destionation and take 20-40 mins to return to the truck. Ill restart the truck and begin to head home. problem is ill only make it a block before my engine cuts off. a first i thought this was a vapor lock issue as when the engine is completly cool it will start and run fine again. i installed a 6 psi electric fuel pump with toggle switch. the problem occued once since installing the new pump, i turned it on and it got me home...50 mins later i went to go to work and the engine started but shut its self off 2 or 3 mins after while idoling. Im beginng to believe that it may have other problems. Ive replaced fuel fileter, thermostat, added heet to fuel, and wraped the fuel line from mechanical pump to carb in foil to help insulate. What else could be wrong? ne one else suffur from this VERY VERY frustrating problem? please help im at wits end here i love my toyota but its causing my blood pressure to rise through the roof not to mention the dented fender as ruslt of frustration
