Hi. My name is Mike and I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. We acq'd our 1992.5 SC400 in early 1996. TRC did the computer, per my guidlines ( If any of you go to Torrance, let me know, and I will assist you in selecting between the TRC (weak on top-end) and my programming (make sure you can get quality HIGH-Octane fuel...)

Also, my modified post-primary CAT exhaust costs much less than the Borland etal systms, and flows so goood...(PS - sounds like LEMANS at 5,000 rpm plus!)

No BS - The post cat involves twin 2.25 pipes leading to a 2 pipe-in and 2 pipe-out COMMON chamber LARGE-volume (non-pellet) CAT - designed for 350 C.I. plus late model V-8's of over 450hp.

The mufflers ( Good from factory) were replaced by better than ... Straight-pipe flow comparisons matter here - I will send, to interested parties, a copy of my bill for the materials and work.

My old sled has a big handicap - the very-good four-speed auto is not a five-speed..
I can pull a STOCK GS400, only if I load up the converter, and then only if the driver of the GS400 is DIMM on power-braking.

However - past 20ish MPH, bring it on, incl. the LS430, etal.

Summary, The new ones are great. I simply enjoy keeping up, w/o a payment...

Gee, the SCV430 is looking good - Does anyone, with excess cash, wish to adopt me??

Mike Torst
Las Vegas, Nevada

Mike Interesting post. It looks like I will be able to buy an SC400 (95 or 96) this year - last year I built a garage instead. One thing that I plan on doing is upgrading to a higher power leve; the usual intake, exhaust, match porting, etc to start with, but ultimately a supercharger. The ECU programming is, however, a bit problematical at this time. I notice that you mention that TRC did your reprogramming per your guidelines. Who are TRC, and I wonder if you could maybe provide some information on your reprogramming. Barry
