Neither one of you specified whether or not you
had Turbo cars, but if you do porting and polishing (
which is basically using a dremel type of tool and
going down the air passages to the valves and relieving
some of the porousity of the metal on the walls so the
air entering has an easier path with less turbulence
or tumbling effect when it travels to the valve
pocket where the valve is seated waiting to enter the
combustion chamber. This stuff works real nice if you've got
a 440 Dodge or a 454 Chevy with a carburetor ; but
actually since you perhaps have a Turbo engine, the Turbo
forces the air into the engine under boost pressure.
You'd be better off with some HKS or Greddy stuff
beginning with a big exhaust pipe, a bigger low restriction
air inlet, a bigger injection program, and more boost
achieved with an EVC box, allowing you to adjust the boost
yourself from the factory setting of 6 to 7 psi to about
12 to 15 psi boost. You'll need a new boost guage to
tell you what you're making for boost, but you can see
gains without nitrous of 120 to 150 more horsepower and
beyond. Also install a new larger intercooler. I just did
in my '93 and it's now a rocket!! I sold my favorite
'88 Yurbo sportroof last year and this newer model is
bigger looking on the outside but smaller and shorter on
the inside, despite being derived from a Lexus SC300
coupe. Any more questions I can help you with? Call HKS
in Torrance, CA (L.A.) or on the internet.
