I have a 2006 Tacoma TRD SPort and the power outlet and cigarette lighter in the dash stopped functioning. I can't tell which fuse is for these devices from the diagram on the fuse box lid. Whcih fuse is it and is there a secondary fuse or breaker that may have been tripped. The power outlet in the bed still functions fine. Thanks for any help.

There should be another fuse box located either right above your left knee or further down where your foot is. I'll state the obvious here, have you read your manual yet to figure out which fuse it is?

Thanks. That was where the problem fuse was. When I saw teh fuse box under teh hood I dodnlt even think there would be a second one somewher else. I looked in the shop manual under "fuses" and there was nothing in the index. But I looked in the owners manual and found it after I saw your email. Guess I looked in the wrong manuals. Got the fuse changed and all is working fine now.

It should be the fuses that are under the kick panel on the driver's side... where your left foot should be.

Thanks for the reply. Prior to ask on the forum, I had looked into the manual and found the fuses box but the labels are not really clear. rwg12358 PM me and let me know which one he changed (the one labeled PWR 15amp) to get his cigarette lighter and pwr outlet to work again.

thanks!

I have a similar issue.
1999 toyota tacoma truck 2.4 liter engine
Problem: both power outlets (things shaped like a cigarette lighter) do not work
The cigarette lighter does work
I caused the problem by running a power inverter (thing that converts dc into ac power) to power a air compressor to pump up air mattress while camping.
I checked both fuse boxes (the one side the cab and the one under the hood) and none are blown; I could not check the fuses/relays that were not see through such as: head, heater, tail, st, efi, and power outlet.
Could it be the Power outlet relay???? In the pic labeled "HPIM1527" i pulled out the "power outlet relay and laid it sideways so that you could see it

Hi, I had the same problem, and changing the 15A "Power Outlet" fuse behind the driver's side kick panel fixed the issue. A spare fuse was contained under the fuse box lid in the engine compartment, and I had to pop out the little change drawer on the driver's side kick panel (right where your left knee would be) to get access to the fuse panel. The back of the drawer has the fuse location diagram.

I have a 2008 Tacoma TRD Sport and the power outlet and cigarette lighter in the dash stopped functioning. The power outlet in the bed still functions fine. This happened after the first time that I used the 110 power outlet.

This seems to be a Toyota Problem. Shouldn't a Technical Service Bulletin be issued and Toyota supply a solution? I dunno.
