Hello

Has anyone experienced problems with a 12 year old Prado 3.0 turbo diesel in car computer ?

I live in Borneo so spares are a little difficult to find any one have ideas on the best place to have it repaired or buy a replacement.

The garage are fairly sure my problem is the computer (located behind the glove box) as they cannot find any other answer to the problem.

The car will run perfectly intermittently but then suddenly cut out with out so much as a splutter just completely dead, give it 10 min's and it will start again.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated.

Jo

hi! try to look for loose wires in the control or loose engine fuse maybe this causes the engine to turn off.

If it is indeed the car computer that is causing the problem as what your mechanic said, then I suggest you just look for a replacement computer box on ebay.
