Hello all. I have a 91 Previa that overheated. Water on top of pistons so I put on a new head gasket (what a job). The block and head looked good to me.
It is all back together now but will not start. It turns over good, has spark at the plugs, has fuel at least to the banjo bolt of the fuel rail. The compression
is 160, 160, 155 and 170. All the ingrediants seem to be present to start but it just will not do it. Can some one offer advice? Thanks.

Hi try eliminating the fuel pump just above the rail by knocking it while cranking the engine.
Also check you have the correct firing order too. Re-check spark plugs for fouling and gap.
Did you put all wiring back on injectors properly?
Maybe reset the ECM to rid it of fault codes too.
Are all vacuum pipes put back in the proper places?
But as you said, all the ingredients are there so you're not far off. Try knocking the fuel pump with a hammer while cranking the engine first.
