Two weeks ago I ordered my MY2002 Prius through Toyota of Irving (Texas). Since then, I haven't received any confirmation e-mail from Toyota, and when I call T. cust. service they advise me to check w/ the dealership, while my dealer says he is dependent on getting an order number from Toyota.

One of my mistakes is that I let the dealer fill out the order instead of doing it myself on the web, so I have no confirmation # handy for reference. However, he *swears* that the order has been placed but doesn't know when the confirmation e-mail will arrive. I've already filled out the purchase order and verified the final cost, and left a $500 refundable deposit on the CC.

Two questions: 1) Who can I contact in this particular situation to get confirmation that my order is in the system (if it's Toyota support is there a particular dept./individual) and 2) Has anyone else had any experience with Toyota of Irving (Texas)- good or bad? My rep was Oscar Davila.

Many thanks in advance!

Gary
(Brilliant Blue in '02!)

Gary, I feel your pain...
Same thing happened here... My dealership in Fremont, CA also told me the order has been placed, yet I don't have any confirmation from dealership or toyota. Let's just cross our fingers and hope for the best..... I would really appreciate it if someone can tell me who to contact.

Thanks!

Henry

I just called my dealership and they actually gave me the confirmation number. I guess they were too lazy to dig it out last time I asked them. you should try again at your dealership. If they ordered it for you, they should have some kind of confirmation.

Henry

it has taken as long as 5 days for me to get a confirmation # back. I consider 2-3 days to be "normal". anything longer than that and i'm on the phone with my regional contact.

toyobri

Gary,

If they placed the order, the will get an order number within hours. They actually go to http://secure.prius.toyota.com/dealer to place the order. If Mr. Davila can not get you an order number, get your deposit and run to Metroplex Toyota in Duncanville. Ask for Barbie Kopacki. I placed my order on the Prius web site, then I went to her. I did not have to give her a deposit. Good luck.

Carlos

Gary,

I also let my dealer do the ordering for me (Toyota of Palo Alto, CA), and I NEVER received any confirming email from Toyota, yet I did get the car 2 months later and all was okay. However, the dealer DID give me the confirmation number when I called them back a week later. You should be able to get that from them. Once you have that, you should be okay (assuming they finalized the order).

-DanC
