I got my hands on the Prius Owner's
Manual.<br><br>Unfortunately, I cannot post it in Adobe Acrobat or any format.
It is 246 pages. The title is: "2001 Owner's
Manual."<br><br>Interesting observations after reading every
page:<br><br>Cruise Control is listed in the index and on Page 105.
There are instructions on how to use the Cruise
Control, but as everyone is painfully aware, there is no
Cruise Control in the Prius. I test drove the
Prius...and there is no Cruise Control, contary to the
pictures in the Owner's Manual. That sucks!!!!!<br><br>You
are given 3 keys with the Prius...one of which can
only open the doors and start the car. This key cannot
open the trunk. This is the key that one would give to
valet parkers. You can lock the trunk.<br><br>You can
open up the driver window from the outside, yes the
outside! If you turn the key and hold it, the window will
come down. Turn and hold it the other way, the window
will go up.<br><br>The manual says you better not lose
your two master keys. If you lose both master keys,
you cannot make new keys...the whole hybrid vehicle
immobiliser system would have to be replaced. This is a very
scary prospect people. <br><br>The keys have
transponder chips. You can't get copies made at locksmiths or
hardware stores.<br><br>Do not start your car with a key
ring resting on the key grip.<br><br>Any grade gas
from 87 to 91 octane will do.<br><br>Prius Owners are
given a Roadside Assistance card. For the 3 year or
36,000 warranty, you can call Toyota for 24-hour
assistance (I guess you won't need AAA anymore?).<br><br>I
ordered my Prius on 7/1/00. I have not received it yet or
received any further calls or emails from Toyota.
