I just had a Hollandia TVS motorized sunroof installed.

It can retract fully inside the roof, it can tilt up, and it has sun shade. The switch was integrated on the dash in the empty space between the dimmer control and side mirror controls.

The work was done by Classic Soft Trim in Hayward, CA. I chose them because I knew they had workd on Prius already (and I saw the car) so I didn't havet to worry about telling them anything about the car. They only do wholesale so I went through my dealer, $1080.

If I get my act together I'll post pictures in the Prius_mods "group".

arnold

Hi, Arnold.

Read your post on Prius Club:

"The work was done by Classic Soft Trim in Hayward, CA. I chose them because I knew they had workd on Prius already (and I saw the car)so I didn't havet to worry about telling them anything about the car. They only do wholesale so I went through my dealer, $1080.

If I get my act together I'll post pictures in the Prius_mods "group"."

Did you ever get those pictures posted? I'm very interested in having a sunroof such as you describe installed in my Prius but Hayward is quite a distance from Santa Cruz and the Classic Soft Trim website offers little help.

Obviously, I'm concerned about exactly where the sunroof goes... does it fit between the two dome light fixtures? Does the dome light have to be moved? Have you had any rain/carwash leakage? Exactly which model of Hollandia TVS sunroof is it? Classic Soft Trim says they have "about 4 inbuilt models) 925 or 840."

Any details that you can pass on, I'd appreciate.

- Neal Kinney

Ok, I quickly grabbed some pictures and put them on PriusMods (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PriusMods/files/Sunroof/). Sorry about the quality, they're from my daughters "toy" digital camera.

I never went to Hayward personally, I dropped my car off with the dealer. They arranged for the car to go to Classic Soft Trim, when it was done I also picked it up from my dealer.

Don't know about leaks yet, hasn't rained yet. I'll probably get it washed this week as well.

According to the warranty card it's a Hollandia TVS model 44.

To recap, it can open fully with the glass inside the roof. It also can be opened in the "vent" position. There is a sliding sun shade. It will automatically close when the car is turned off (with an override option if you really want to leave it open).

arnold

Hi, Arnold.

Wow! Your pictures of the sunroof are perfect. Just what I needed to see. And I can't believe that you took them with a "toy digital camera." I guess today's "toys" are yesterdays scientific marvels!

- Neal Kinney

Thanks again for the information! I'm going to do it!

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PriusMods/files/Sunroof/
