Hi all, long time no see. I thought I would just
let you all know that I have recently had a problem
with the starting of my car. What happens is that the
car will start straight away with no problems, but,
if I then stop the car for 5 mins, and try to start
it again, it just doesn't fire, or even sound like
it's about to start. You have to wait an hour and let
the car cool down in order to start it again! (Most
annoying if you stall your car at the front of some
temporary lights, on one of the busiest stretches of road
in Bristol!!!).
Well anyway, I took it to the
garage, and after a few minutes testing they were able to
tell me that this is the IGNITOR. They seem to think
that it is overheating, and the components inside are
gradually breaking down.
The IGNITOR is the rectangular
metal box that sits ontop of the starter coil that
mounted to the engine bay. The only problem is that to my
horror, the only place I could get the new part from was
from TOYOTA direct, for ?235!!!
I thought to
myself, sod that, Im gonna get one cheaper, and the only
place that had one was "good old FENSPORT". They
charged me just ?35 for the part and delivery.
They
informed me that this is a regular thing with this part,
and is why they have a number in stock. I'll let you
knoe how I get on.

Chris
