Most modern cars and pickups have blind spots due to the rollover requirements imposed by government. The roof pillars are much beefier than on older vehicles, particularly between the windshield and the passenger windows. It's a tradeoff. Sacrifice a little visibility for added strength. Dodge Dakotas are particularly bad that way.
