I seem to have a sag in the rear end of my 98 4Runner. It rides great and almost sits level as long as no one sits in the rear seat. When I have 2 passengers in the rear seat I notice the rear end bottoming out on the rear axle. I'm suspecting my problem is in the rear springs and shocks? Any susggestions on a good brand name replacment springs & shocks. I do very little towing so I won't need anything heavy duty, just something that will support passengers and cargo. I'm thinking about going to Auto Zone to see what they have. Is this a good idea? tw

I went with Performance Products 1" lift progressive rate springs, www.performanceproducts.com for my '97 4Runner, along with Monroe gas matic shocks. Over all I'm very pleased with the results. If you want something a little stiffer, you may want to go with a set of Bilstein shocks. Hope this helps. Have fun, Anthony Message: 5

there is a service bulletin for the 98 4-runner rear springs you would need to contact your local dealer with the V.I.N. to see if it applies to your vehicle TW

I have to say thanks for the advice regarding the suspension on my 4Runner. I called the dealer and there is a service bulletin out for the rear suspension of 1996-1998 4Runners. They are going fix my 4Runner FREE of charge. I'm not sure of all the parts they are to replace but I do know the coil springs are included in this repair which was a concern of mine. I'll keep the group posted once the repairs are complete.
