Gidday ppl
i have my 1998 SR5 and i am gettibng to love the truck
my question is where is the reciever for the remote door unlocking?
I can unlocking the car with the keys as always, but the remote door unlocking isn't working.
The haynes manual doesn't show anything about this
I am a electronics 2 way radio tech in penrith in NSW and i want to fault find this but i need the reciever to look for the signal that the remote sends.
Cause i can't find the transmit frequency to fault find the remote anlone.

Is it the receiver or the battery in the remote? I thought I had a receiver problem too but it was nothing more than a new battery. But you being a tech, you've probably already checked that out.

That's a really tough problem. Have you took it to the auto repair shop for a second opinion yet? They might be able to find the receiver for you. It always helps to have a second opinion. Hope you find it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/57.gif)

I've always heard that they aren't far from the door.. some are just by the fuse panel and some under the seat? not sure but would help if new what it looked like...

To agree with what a few mentioned, I am pretty sure on this one it is under the seat or in that general area of the vehicle.
