I love the Sienna but not crazy about removing/re-installing the seats. A dealer said rocking them while in the tumbled position helps. You might want to make sure you're not hitting the seat in front of it and make sure the headrest is down (or out). Need to make sure you're fully tumbled before pulling the black strap.
Also, once removed, make sure the floor wells that the seats fit into are clear of debris. This may make it easier to remove next time.
Finally, my car came with a VCR tape on the seat operation. You know you're in trouble when they need to film a movie in order to instruct you removing/reinstalling the seats. Of course, it looks soooo easy in the film.
Also, if you have three seats in the second row and the fold-down center console between the front seats I think you'll need to fold it down to remove the center seat behind it. I avoid removing that seat whenever possible.
