Hi,
I'm new to the forum (feels like an AA meeting), and I've just purchased an old Cruiser this year - already having some issues with parts that need fixing and replacing.
Right now, the roof rack bolts for one front attachment point have pulled up and through the roof (rust! argghhh...) - and the boot that covers that attachment point has blown away some where on one of the great pot-hole riddled highways of NY state.
I have two questions, maybe three:
1. Has anyone ever re-attached a roof rack when bolts rusted and pulled through? How? What materials to use to at a minimum, fill the holes to prevent water damage inside?
2. What replacement or alternative rack would you suggest if I chose to remove the old one?
3. Any recommendations on a place to go to have the roof repaired correctly?
thanks much,
tc
