New to Toyota, but I love my (new to me) '92 forerunner, 4 cyl 5 spd for my purposes- going to the desert, jeep roads etc. But it doesn't seem to have any provision for a roof rack. Do I need to drill holes in the roof or is there some trick door jam mounting system?

To install a "stock" roof rack from Toyota you will have to drill your roof. You will also have to remove the roof-insulation from the inside. It will be a messy job.
You can get after market racks (i have a couple). Up here in Canada you can get them at Canadian Tire pretty cheap. So I'm sure you guys can get them down there.

That guy says that Yakima clips fit well. I've been
watching this board and egroups and I don't recall anybody
saying they got Thule clips to work. But, if Yakima
clips work I would expect eventually Thule clips will
work as well. Patrick
