New to Toyota, but I love my (new to me) '92 forerunner, 4 cyl 5 spd for my purposes- going to the desert, jeep roads etc. But it doesn't seem to have any provision for a roof rack. Do I need to drill holes in the roof or is there some trick door jam mounting system?

To install a "stock" roof rack from Toyota you will have to drill your roof. You will also have to remove the roof-insulation from the inside. It will be a messy job.

You can get after market racks (i have a couple). Up here in Canada you can get them at Canadian Tire pretty cheap. So I'm sure you guys can get them down there.

Check messages on this board ## 2017 and 2310. That guy says that Yakima clips fit well. I've been watching this board and egroups and I don't recall anybody saying they got Thule clips to work. But, if Yakima clips work I would expect eventually Thule clips will work as well. Patrick
