The rubber seal on the rear window of my 92 4Runner is acting up. When I roll up the window it flips over so I have to stand there and hold it down while I roll up the window. Anyone know a way to fix this? Thanks, Dan

Have you replaced one before? Is it difficult? Can I do it myself or do I need to have a dealer do it? I have been searching the Internet for auto parts but have not been able to find a source yet. Any hints or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Dan

It's the rear window. This is a 92, V6, 4WD, 4 door. The rear window rolls down into the tailgate and the tailgate opens like a pickup truck. There is a rubber seal mounted to the top of the tailgate which presses against the glass to keep water from dripping down inside the door. I guess the rubber has gotten stiff and perhaps has come loose inside because when I roll up the rear window it flips over. Kind of like turning your eyelid inside out. Does that make sense? Thanks, Dan

sure does. it sounds like the retaining clips on the rubber piece have broken off. if thats what has happened u will have to get a new one. to install it u may have to remove the rear glass, but u could get lucky and get it to go in without taking the glass out. it would make it alot easier if u take the glass out though Dan Plemons
