Just wondering if anyone has ever experienced this problem.

This morning my Corolla started to make a strange screeching noise which appears to be coming from the underside of the rear passenger side of the car. A little later the "fuel door open" sign on the dashboard lit up. I checked the fuel cap and fuel door and both were closed.

Any ideas!

No, but I'm curious as hell now. When I heard screech, I immediately thought it was a belt, but toward the rear ...hmmm.

I have the same problem of fuel door indicator on the dashboard lit up. Traced to the fuel door, it was fully closed. There was a remote release cable with a retractable button, but there was not electrical switch or sensor to trigger the warning light. Please help root cause this annoying light. Thanks!
