I'm seeking a 90-93 Celica GT Convertible Top latch passenger side. The dealer is asking $410.00 just for the part. Could someone suggest other places to look I checked the aftermarket on line stores, no luck. I've had no luck at the scrap yard in my area either. The dealer told me only 90=93 would work. I found an 89, but not sure it would work. Any suggestion?

Thanks!!!!

Try car-part.com for used parts. As for a new one, try toyotaworld.com, trdparts4u.com, partznet.com or 1sttoyotaparts.com.

You probably have resolved this problem already, but just in case not, there is a 1993 Celica convertible sitting out in a salvage yard I frequent often, and it may have a working passenger side latch on it. I could check into it, if you haven't yet resolved your problem.

Hello,

Do you still have any information on the passenger side top latch for the 1993 Celica Convertible? I am looking for the part. I just finished a top installation and it broke! I appreciate it. KDD

I tried removing the top latch from the car in the salvage yard, anticipating you would still need it, or to serve as a spare for my own Celica, but I could not get one particular screw removed (it had a special socket design that I don't have in my toolkit).

Now that I know you would still want it, next time I get out to that salvage yard for other parts, I'll take a vise-grip along to see if I can grab that screw from the outside and get it to free up. I don't think the odds are very good that I will be able to remove that screw, but I'll give it a try.

From what I can see, you can't change the top latch with the top installed across the header bow. If you already installed your new top, you will need to take it apart at the front corner where the latch is, as many of the screws are under the top material.

This may take a several weeks before I can attempt it again - I'll let you know what happens.
