My 2002 Toyota Sequoia's driver side power folding mirror motor won't quit running. I have been unable to determine which fuse controls this. The issue was initially intermitant but now runs anytime the key is in the ignition. My Chilton manual has limited information on the mirrors and fuses. Short of taking it to the dealership does anyone have any suggestions?

I have the same problem with my 2003. Did you find which fuse it was? Thanks in advance!

Power folding mirror motor keeps running for me too on my Seq 2001 - definitely a faulty switch. I popped the switch out on the middle console, unplugged the power cord, and popped off the back protective semi-clear cover on the switch unit. Use a very small flat head screw driver to do this - pretty easy. The folding mirror button is isolated in its own quadrant in the plastic housing of the switch unit. There are four leads that come up and over the plastic housing to integrate the folding mirror switch into the main housing. I simply clipped these leads and made sure none of them could touch each other. I put the plastic housing back on the switch, plug the power clip back in and snapped the facing and unit back into the console. No more folding mirror motor running noise, but also no more power folding mirrors. Add this to the growing list of issues - "D" drive light out on dash, back window doesn't roll down, back left speaker blown, power antenna cable snapped, and now no power folding mirrors. Good thing it runs like a champ!

Good grief! If I didn't know better, I'd swear that you were describing my vehicle! Except for the blown rear speaker, I have had the exact same issues with my 2001 Sequoia. I guess that may be next. The power antenna gave up the ghost a couple of days ago, and the Drive light a couple of days before that. I have also experienced the scary TRAC issue described in another post. It's comforting to know that I'm not alone, but I'm seriously considering trading mine in. This is my first Toyota, and I guess that I expected better craftsmanship from them.

My power mirror problem was definitely the switch. My dealer swapped it out for a good one from another vehicle and it solved the problem immediately. Though they want $165 for a new one, I decided that having the power folding mirrors operate properly was worth it. Especially if I keep my Sequoia for several more years.

i have the same problem on mine the mirror runs continuously on the driver side. the d in the dash is out and we have seen wierd trac issues with our 2001 limited too. rich

Ditto mirror, d light, rear window, antenna, trac and check engine light and raise ya'll two cracked driver seats.
BTW the rear window was a faulty weather seal that folded over on itself and prevented the window from lowering. The antenna was almost as simple as feeding the new plastic rail as the motor cycled. I assumed the mirror was faulty, "you know what they say about assuming". First time the seat cracked was during the warranty period. Toyota replaced. D light I'm not worried about unless it (the beast) stops D'ing. All before 120K. Thankfully when the key turns there is life. We love it though. The check engine light was from an emissions control device fault "maybe the gas cap wasn't tight".
Other than that glad to be part of the club.

I just bought a new console switch, installed it and the motor still keeps running. My problem must be a limit switch at the mirror itself. No returns on electric parts. BOOOOO! You can take your chances but I'll bet a mirror replacement is big $$$.

Kinda of funny that this happened 1 day after the car was valet parked for 2 days at a hotel.

I followed the advice of ADW and clipped the 4 leads on the back of my switch (remember I still have a good one left). I can live without the fold option but it is nice to still have the ability to control alignment on both sides. Just be careful when cutting the soldered leads. Small wire snippers can be had at Home Depot to do the trick.

Thanks for the info on clipping the switch,i just clipped the first wire(the one apart from the others) in hopes i could keep the passenger side folding but it killed the running motor and neither side works now.Better that than pay the 400.the dealer quoted fo a new motor or the 189. the parts dept wanted for a new switch at lakeside toyo. Funny though,neither of the 2 junkyards i called had any sequoias.i replaced antennae earlier and the d light is out but my rear window is still working.
