My owner's manual says to change oil at 5000 miles or 4months if driving primarily in short trips below freezing,or a lot on rough or unpaved roads; something like that. Guess it depends on where you live and your drive to follow or not.
Don

NOW I know why in Canada Toyota says to do the oil at 7500km (beside the fact that the customer pays for all of them vs the U.S. where the dealer pays for them for the first 3 years)! They think that Canada is always below freezing and the roads are rough and unpaved. :)

Speaking of oil, has anyone here ever had to add oil. I have close to 5000 miles, and the oil is still clean and just above the full mark.
Mitch

I haven't even looked under the hood yet. (Just got my Prius last week) I went through the manual but there's absolutely no graphic as to where the oil stick is. Where is it?

Check page 198 in the OM. Nice layout of the engine compartment. The ICE dipstick is in a great place; right in front of the ICE.
Mitch

no graphic as to where the oil stick is. Where is it?
