Check this out! I ordered a Prius on Aug. 10th and the car arrived Sept. 11th and I declined delivery because I have a current lease expiring on January 1st. (Original order attempted to coincide Prius delivery at the termination of my current lease, per suggestion of Toyota Dealer). They re-0rdered another Prius on Sept 12th and got the call that my second Prius is ready for me to pick up last Friday 10/19) GO Figure! Everyone is waiting and waiting and they are stuffing the car Down my throat every month. John in FLorida.

Something weird seems to be happening in the Southeast, all right. Between your story and Toyotabobby talking about a number of Priuses to sell to anyone, it seems like your area got flooded with Prii and New England has not gotten any. I bet it has something to do with Newark and the national emergency. Understandable, but still disappointing to those of us in the Northeast. (One does wonder why they did not put 'em on a train going north!)

Burns
Still waiting...

Hi Burns,
Got mine at Toyota of Westborough, MA on Rt. 9.
Picked up a cancellation. Took, maybe a week total, and I've been driving this sweet little baby for about 1300 miles now. Mpg ~ 45-50avg.
Ya might give 'em a call. I think they have another one on the lot, but it may be waiting for its new owner. I drive it to work in Bedford/Burlington MA every day. Maybe we'll cross paths. I saw another one in Concord last week but was unable to catch 'em and wave. It's great just getting 50% better gas mileage than my old Tercel.

Otherwise, there's a ton of them in this area (rt. 2 MA). I see one parked near the Acton town center most evenings/weekends, and my husband sees one at the Lincoln commuter rail parking lot daily. There's even the occasional Insight in the area...

My mother ordered her Prius through Toyota of Newport (Middletown RI) on 6/9, a Brilliant Blue. Last update her dealer gave was for late Nov./early Dec., due to port closures/delays. (Coast Guard has closed the RI/Providence port a few times, and has instituted a 96-hr prior notice before docking (includes manifests and names of all passengers/crew), prior to Sept. it was only a 48-hr notice.) As my mother drives by the dealership daily on her commute, she occasionally (while at a stoplight) gets to peer over their inventory. She thought she saw 2 Prius, one which was silver, new there at the end of last week... We think that a few are finally making it into the NorthEast region (finally!).

I know of at least one person in the north/central US that ordered on 6/25 and received their Prius already, and it wasn't a drop/cancellation...

Hi Mike,

Is it a 2002 model year that you got at Westboro?

I've got my order for a fully-loaded Green at Toyota of Nashua, so I'm not going to go back to square one unless something really drastic happens!

Burns
