Hi there, I have a 2006 Taco 4x4 4 dr, long box. I purchased it last June (2008) with 26,000 miles on it. I notice this winter that there was a lot of slug on the oil filler cap. I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this? Had my oil change yesterday at Toyota and asked the mechanic about this and he said the the truck runs to cold for the winters here in Canada and this is what caused the slug. Go figure!! Do you mean sludge? It usually occurs when the engine doesn't get up to proper operating temperatures because of frequent short trips or cold weather in your case. It's wise to change your oil at shorter intervals in your case to keep the oil from collecting too much moisture. Did it just start happening or has it been like that ever since you got your truck?
