hello ive been thinking of buying a weber dgev for my 78 celica w/ a 20r..however im wondering if it will still pass smog and if i will be able to still hook up the stock smog pump to the air filter like you can with stock carburation.... anyone with some advice on this would greatly be appreciated Bob

Hello, yes you can use a DGEV (elec choke) or DGV (man choke) the big hose going to the air pump, just install a air filter to it. you will only have one vac hose hook up though. it is for the vac advance unit. if you want the same action you can use a 22R carb and have more vac hose hookups for your emish fittings. you can even hook up the stock wires to the stock plug for your harness. you can buy an adaptor plate for about $35.00 or you will need to make an adaptor plate!! it is a mechanical secondary progresive unit too. you can get the jet upgrades for the truck too, to install. I've built these for also the 2TC and 3TC for upgrade and still using the emish hookups as needed. they work real well. with normal drivability and idle. and wide open throttle on demand!
