I had the same problem on my 1997, so i replaced the factory tires with some Cooper Tempest's and they seem to work fine in the snow. Hope this helps.

Dear Emilio,

I have a 2006 Camry Solara,

The car will not completely stop even if there is just a little bit of snow on the ground. I had to go through a red light when it was snowing heavy because the car would not stop. I put on my brights and kept beeping so I would not get hit. I put on my warning lights because I have to go at a slow speed in the snow. I am taking it in to the Toyota dealership before the next snow. When I try to brake. There is a noise, as if the snow is stuck in traction. I don't know if it is poor factory brakes or poor factory tires. This is dangerous!
