hello, i just fitted a new set of front brake discs to my car which are cross drilled. when braking at high speed eg 70mph there is a vibration in the steering wheel. the wheel are balanced and there is NOT vibration that i can detect in teh steering wheel durig normal driving? any ideas Come on you gurus GTI_DRIVER

My guess would be warped discs.
Even if you bed them in gently they can still sometimes warp so you only feel it when braking.
Drilled discs are not as solid as undrilled so you should make sure they are pretty good quality when buying drilled. Then again even expensive ones are not immune nd all can go even when very new.

Most decent garages, and maybe even some crap ones, should be able to put a dial guage on the rotors to see if they're true. If not then take them back.

i have a micro meter and can check using that. it makes sense that they maybe slightly warped cause i only feel the vibration when braking from high speeds they were expensiuve too and only just bought

I've had expensive discs on my bike warp within a week. Sometimes you just get a dodgy set.
A micrometer might not show anything though. The discs might be the same thickness all the way round but doesn't necessarily mean they're straight. Imagine warped discs as a slightly bent coin. Same thickness wherever you measure, but wobbles when spun.
